The article titled “Using Classroom Assessment to Improve Teaching” is a very in depth, lengthy and covers a wide range of concepts in relation to assessments. I liked reading this as it shows there is a lot more to the assessment process than learners completing a test of some form. I learned that teachers should use assessment not only to actively and continuously measure a learner’s progress but also to acquire useful data to inform their own instructional practice. I encourage instructors to read this and pay attention to all the different areas that are examined. I plan on using the embedded tools to evaluate my current methods of assessing learners and to critique my methods of teaching.
